Job Description
- Assist the Physician to monitor and document the health status of residents receiving IMS services to include: physical exams, vital signs, rating scales, medication inventory and storage, activities and lab results.
- Decide when a resident requires emergency or urgent medical care.
- Document and organize the medication storage and inventory and keep compliance with all state and federal regulations.
- Provide ongoing training to facility staff on proper techniques of obtaining vitals and documenting residents self-reports of pain and other symptoms.
- Provide ongoing training to facility staff on proper techniques of observing and documenting residents self-administration of medications, both prescription and over-the-counter.
- Be the primary point-person for communication between the doctors, pharmacies and facility staff.
- Receive and follow-up on resident test results in a timely fashion. Send to the Health Care Practitioner for review.
- Complete Client Health Questionnaire (DHCS 5103) and pre-screening evaluations within 24 hours of admission and notify the Physician when completed
- Make a referral for placement if the resident does not meet the criteria for IMS services.

Job Qualifications
- Licensed nurse in good standing in the State of California.
- Knowledge and working experience dealing with detoxification medications and substance-use treatment residents.
- Work within the professional scope of licensing.
