SUMMARY:
Management Business Solutions is seeking a
Product & Operations Manager
for its client in
Walker, MI.
The person will be responsible for managing daily operations, supporting product needs, and driving process improvements within a small, specialized team. The position involves significant customer and vendor interaction, overseeing inventory and pricing strategies, and ensuring product quality and timely delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Respond to customer inquiries regarding parts, tooling, and replacement components.
Interpret machine layout prints to identify and source required parts.
Oversee light-duty assembly of machine components and conduct quality checks against specifications.
Manage procurement of custom components, negotiating cost and delivery with vendors.
Handle product shipping, including packaging, labeling, and coordinating with carriers.
Maintain and revise technical documentation and part prints to ensure accuracy.
Build and sustain strong customer relationships through accurate quoting and order management.
Monitor market trends and competitor activity, providing insights to support sales strategy and planning.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
3 years experience with inventory management within a manufacturing or distribution environment, with proven ability to maintain accurate stock levels and oversee timely order fulfillment.
3 years experience with metals, machining processes, and tolerances, with the ability to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
Knowledge of the screw machine industry, including operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, or technical support; strong understanding of tooling, components (cams, feed fingers, clutches, gears), and processes used in high-volume precision machining environments is highly preferred
Ability to read blueprints and apply strong mechanical and problem-solving skills is required.
Prior exposure to client industries such as automotive, industrial, medical, or heavy equipment manufacturing, with an understanding of their quality requirements is preferred.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused mindset.
Proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel; spreadsheet development preferred.
Sales knowledge or experience with sales processes is a plus.
