Sustaining Engineer (Board level Hardware) A technology company specializing in hardware systems for industrial environments is seeking a Sustaining Engineer to join its team. The Sustaining Engineer is responsible for the ongoing support, maintenance, and enhancement of released products. This includes identifying, analyzing, reproducing, and resolving technical issues. Success in this role requires strong technical acumen, the ability to learn complex systems quickly, and excellent collaboration and communication skills. Located in Mid Cities. Responsibilities Perform electrical and computer system debugging Reproduce, investigate, and resolve product issues across the product lifecycle Provide second-level technical support for both customer service and product returns (RMAs) Review and approve engineering change orders (ECOs) and production documentation Work cross-functionally with development, support, QA, and product teams to address issues Assist with warranty and root cause analysis for electronics and electromechanical systems Participate in product design activities, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and validation Support and maintain eCAD infrastructure and component libraries (e.g., Altium) Provide second-level support for production testing and troubleshooting Conduct design reviews with a focus on manufacturability and testability (DFM/DFT) Help develop and maintain manufacturing and test procedures Analyze test data, produce documentation, and offer design improvement recommendations Collaborate on R&D initiatives to meet product cost and delivery goals Offer design feedback to enhance reparability and manufacturability of products Use Altium Designer (or similar) to develop printed circuit board assemblies Qualifications: 3+ years of experience in sustaining engineering or a related discipline, or a combination of relevant education and experience Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field Strong debugging skills for computer hardware and systems Ability to interpret and work from engineering schematics and PCB layouts Familiarity with electrical lab tools such as oscilloscopes and multimeters Proficiency in Altium or similar electronic design software Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age or veteran status.
