Overview
Service Technician/ Customer Service Representative at The Mobility Center of the Grand Strand. This role is responsible for making a good first impression and maintaining a visible, positive and empathetic attitude toward clients and referral sources. The position assists customers with durable medical equipment (DME) questions and needs. The ideal candidate will have excellent critical thinking, be self-directed, and have general mechanical ability.
Responsibilities
- Repair and service equipment as requested
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues
- Develop an action plan to remedy issues
- Read and understand schematics
- Greet customers and answer patient telephone inquiries
- Determine customer type: Insurance, Retail, Rental, Service
- Explain company policies regarding payment options
- Assist customers with need and determination of appropriate equipment
- Educate customers on the use of DME
- Communicate with customers, case managers, and/or doctors’ offices
- Order equipment for custom orders/inventory maintenance when appropriate
- Process rental/sales/service reservations and coordinate deliveries and pick-up
- Maintain contact with product sales representatives and stay updated on industry trends
- Be familiar with where and how to find product information online from manufacturer sites
- Maintain inventory on the sales floor and store cleanliness
- Check company e-mail for memos or other business e-mail
- Assist in computing annual inventory reports
- Other duties as assigned
- Check all areas of the store when closing to ensure security and safety

Qualifications
Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; and 2 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
