Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are safe, reliable, maintainable, and delivered on time. LCE is composed of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices, and our customers. Our Life Cycle Engineering teams are engaged throughout the entire product life cycle, from conception to deactivation. Our primary focus is on product support, including the following key disciplines: Reliability, System Safety, and Supportability.
To help drive this mission forward, Raytheon currently has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer – Cross Product Team Lead/Systems Engineering position within our Land and Strategic Missile Defense business area. This role directly supports Raytheon’s mission of making the world a safer place.
This is a full-time, onsite position based in Andover, MA OR Huntsville, AL.
What You Will Do
Lead a team of approximately 20 indirect team members across various aspects of design and sustainment execution, including:
Reliability Engineering
Hardware and Software Safety Engineering
Operations and Sustainment of Effector Products
Repair and Upgrade Logistics
Onsite Facility Operations
Obsolescence Management
Conducting engineering finance reviews
Leading and coordinating Life Cycle Engineering proposal activities
Additional responsibilities include team-focused areas such as:
Driving team growth and improving productivity
Resolving personnel issues
Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
Ensuring all personnel are properly trained and prepared for the scope of their tasks, and promoting the use of best practices across all programs
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience
Experience with proposals, cost, schedule, and/or technical performance
Qualifications We Prefer
Familiarity with management of program support, subcontractor oversight, and customer relationships
Experience with Estimates at Completion (EAC) process
Ability to motivate team members in a matrix environment by providing an open environment conducive for each team member to reach his/her full potential
Excellent interpersonal and communicatiosn skills with ability to multi-task
Ability to gain Raytheon EVMS certification
Experience with lean process improvement (Raytheon CORE or equivalent qualification)

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
