This position supports the business by performing professional level Human Resources responsibilities in one or more operational areas such as employment, benefits administration, employee/labor relations, training, HRIS, and legal & regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include handling employee complaints or grievances, administering employee records, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations, coordinating employee training activities, and administering compensation, benefits and performance programs. Works with employees and managers to address root causes of HR and employee relations issues.

Responsibilities

  • Employment responsibilities including but not limited to posting jobs internally and externally, and assisting with resume screening.
  • Schedule and conduct phone screens and in-person interviews for hourly positions; assist in facilitating and documenting selection of best qualified candidates.
  • Initiate background screening and other pre-employment checks; schedule and conduct new hire orientation and on-boarding.
  • Act as day-to-day contact for benefits related items; conduct benefits/open enrollment meetings and inform eligible employees of qualified benefits; audit enrollment completion.
  • Explain company HR policies, benefits, and procedures to employees, managers, or applicants; administer local attendance policy.
  • Assist managers and employees to address basic HR and employee relations issues; participate in or lead location employee engagement activities.
  • Administer Company Learning Management System (LMS); work with managers to place training content into the LMS; ensure compliance trainings are completed on time; assist with training grants and ISO training requirements.
  • Maintain employee personnel and confidential files; assist with EEO-1, VETS 4212, I-9 and E-Verify records; support OFCCP data collection and legal compliance monitoring.
  • Support data collection and reporting to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Coordinate and participate in local wage, benefits, and policy surveys as assigned.
  • Act as point person for intern program including recruiting, onboarding, and guiding interns.
  • Assist with project work, benchmarking, and participation in professional development activities.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 4+ years of Human Resources experience or equivalent required; 0-3 years experience noted in some postings.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); experience with HRIS and Talent Management Systems.
  • Basic knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices; ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills; strong interpersonal skills.
  • HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License for business travel.
