Manchester University is seeking a Human Resources Assistant to join our team in North Manchester. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, organized professional who enjoys providing exceptional support and helping others thrive. You’ll be an important part of the HR team, keeping operations running smoothly, assisting employees and students, and ensuring our workplace is welcoming and efficient.
What You'll Do:
Office Management & Administration: Manage the HR inbox, schedule meetings, prepare communications, and coordinate office supplies.
HR Support: Process employment verifications, prepare new hire announcements, update HR systems, and assist with orientations.
Employee Support: Be the first point of contact for HR inquiries, providing helpful, timely, and professional customer service.
Event & Recognition Programs: Coordinate HR events, recruitment activities, and employee recognition initiatives.
Student Employment: Maintain student employment records, assist with onboarding, and coordinate HR student workers' responsibilities with supervisor.
Benefits & Compensation: Assist with audits, prepare compensation notifications, and support open enrollment communications.
What You'll Need:
Education & Experience: Associate’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent professional experience). At least 1 year in an administrative or HR support role is preferred, ideally in higher education.
Skills & Strengths:
Proficient in active listening and empathy to ensure every customer feels understood and supported.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Attention to detail with a problem-solving mindset.
Motivated, adaptable, and embraces change with an open mind.
Proficiency with HRIS systems and office software (preferred).
Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
Other Requirements: Ability to work independently and collaboratively, and occasional travel between campuses.
