Overview
Synergis’ client, a leading business products wholesaler, has engaged us in a search for a Business Analyst to join their growing team. The Business Analyst will contribute to profitability by driving business requirements, financial analysis, and technology solutions across departments. This role serves as a liaison between IT and the business, translating complex data into actionable insights, documentation, and reports that guide decision-making. You will help deliver system enhancements, test new solutions, and provide production support while ensuring business needs are met with clarity and efficiency.
Business Analyst | Background and Scope
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand and document business needs, requirements, and processes.
- Develop and maintain project documentation including business requirements, process flows, test plans, and SDLC-related documents.
- Translate complex financial data into concise, visual reports to support informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with IT teams to evaluate, recommend, and implement technology solutions.
- Track and measure business and financial benefits tied to IT initiatives.
- Provide clarity and support throughout development cycles, from concept through deployment.
- Support QA and UAT testing efforts by clarifying requirements and evaluating results.
- Provide production support across multiple applications.
- Identify dependencies, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Perform selective project management and coordination of IT tasks and deliverables.
Business Analyst | Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with strong focus on financial systems or accounting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts (General Ledger, etc.) as it pertains to data.
- Proven experience in financial modeling, data analysis, and reporting.
- Proficiency in SQL, Excel (pivot tables, advanced formulas), Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Familiarity with ERP / financial systems (SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft).
- Experience with SDLC methodology and project documentation.
- Excellent communication skills; able to present to and influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Business Analyst | Preferred
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with APIs, data models, and system integration.
- Experience in wholesale distribution or logistics industries.
- Specific PeopleSoft experience.
- Professional certifications (CBAP, PMI-PBA, etc.) are a plus.

Major product categories include office furniture, computer supplies, general office supplies, school supplies, presentation products, business equipment, janitorial products, warehouse and safety items, and breakroom supplies. They provide next-day delivery, logistics, technology support, and a range of marketing programs. They align these capabilities to support customers\' sales and marketing efforts.
Compensation
The compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $115,000 (dependent on factors including but not limited to client requirements, experience, statutory considerations, and location).
