Overview

Base pay range: $17.50/hr - $17.50/hr

Duration: 3+ months (Possible contract to hire)

Job Description:

US Tech Solutions is seeking a Call Center Representative for a customer service role involving handling inquiries, processing claims and non-medical appeals, and supporting accurate and timely responses to customers by phone, email, web, or walk-in interactions. Onsite training will be conducted for 6 weeks, Monday through Friday, 8:00–4:30, subject to change.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer inquiries, including non-routine cases requiring deviation from standard scripts and procedures.
  • Conduct research as needed to resolve inquiries and adjudicate claims and/or non-medical appeals.
  • Determine whether to return, deny, or pay claims following organizational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain effective customer relations by providing accurate, timely, and courteous service across communication channels.
  • Handle situations requiring adaptation of response or extensive research.
  • Identify incorrectly processed claims and process adjustments or reprocessing actions per department guidelines.
  • Examine and process claims and/or non-medical appeals according to business/contract regulations and internal guidelines.
  • Enter claims into the system after verifying correct coding of procedures and diagnoses.
  • Ensure claims are processed according to quality and production standards.
  • Identify complex inquiries that cannot be resolved with standard procedures and refer to a lead or manager.
  • Identify and report potential fraud and abuse situations.

Experience

  • 2 years of customer service experience including 1 year in claims or appeals processing.

Skills

  • Good verbal and written communication skills; strong customer service skills; accurate spelling, punctuation and grammar; basic business math proficiency.
  • Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Work environment: Typical office environment.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
