Title: Dishroom Cleaning Attendant

Overview

The Dishroom Cleaning Attendant cleans and sanitizes dishes, cookware, utensils and other kitchen tools using a commercial dishwasher. This position performs routine and deep cleaning tasks to maintain kitchen cleanliness in compliance with St. Charles Health System standards and Oregon Food Sanitation standards. This position does not directly supervise other caregivers.

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Washes dishes, glassware, flatware, kitchen equipment/utensils, pots, and/or pans using commercial dishwashers or by hand
  • Restocks all clean dishes and equipment after they are sanitized
  • Retrieves used food trays and carts from patient care areas as scheduled
  • Completes all assigned opening/closing procedures and check-lists
  • Maintains kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition; performs routine cleaning of floors, mats, walls, cooking equipment, carts, ceilings and other kitchen or food service equipment in compliance with standards
  • Uses various chemicals to clean and sanitize kitchen facility, including deep cleaning of equipment, floor mats, dishwashing machine, floors, carts, refrigerators, and counters
  • Cleans garbage cans and sorts/removes trash
  • Sweeps and scrubs floors
  • Provides support to other areas of food services as directed by manager, supervisor or coordinator, including delivery of food to patients as needed
  • Supports the vision, mission and values of the organization; engages in VIP (Lean) continuous improvement
  • Provides and maintains a safe environment for caregivers, patients and guests
  • Maintains professionalism and confidentiality; complies with laws, regulations, policies and procedures; reports known or suspected violations
  • Delivers customer service and/or patient care in a timely, efficient and accurate manner
  • May perform additional duties of similar complexity as required

Education

  • Required: N/A
  • Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Required: Deschutes County Food Handlers Card
  • Preferred: N/A

  • Preferred: Previous experience in a food handling environment

Personal Protective Equipment
