Cleaning Staff Job at ICAN Inc in Utica

The Cleaning Staff is responsible for meeting a high standard of performance for the cleanliness of the agency’s facilities; through assigned routine daily cleaning activities. They will adheres to and promote the philosophy and mission of the company by performing the following duties.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Performs cleaning functions on a daily basis and as needed, including cleaning all offices, emptying of garbage containers, cleaning breakrooms and kitchens, sweeping and mopping floors, dusting and cleaning glass surfaces, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms and other areas as assigned.
  
• Meets with the Facilities Manager on a regular basis to review status of ongoing department activities and facility needs.
  
• Identifies various facility needs and share concerns with supervisor, including the needs of supplies on an as needed basis.
  
• Maintains open lines of communication regarding job activities, locations, etc.
  
• Uses/wears proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times per safety guidelines. Observe safe work practices at all times with chemicals, equipment, etc. Uses safety signs and any needed precautionary methods to assure safe standards.
  
  
• Cleaning staff may be assigned to other agency worksites to serve as backup or in regular rotation of shifts.

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Facility/Building Cleaning experience strongly preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License is required.
  
  

Shift: This is a part-time position, covering weekends at the Utica Children's Museum.

This is an non-exempt position, paid an hourly rate of $18.00.
