POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the safe and timely delivery of petroleum products throughout Southcentral Alaska, while providing excellent customer service. Candidate must have experience driving truck and pup and or double trailer sets as well as transporting hazardous material.

A. JOB DUTIES Transports petroleum product throughout Southcentral Alaska Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner. Applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and observing all traffic laws and safety regulations. Maintains accurate truck logs, according to State and Federal regulations. Performs daily vehicle inspections, reports all necessary mechanical repairs and defects to Mechanic and Dispatcher. Keeps equipment and truck in clean and working order. May preform emergency roadside repairs and tire chain installation. Ensures proper procedures are followed for tasks being performed. Ensures shipping bills of lading and necessary paperwork are maintained and orderly. Informs management of safety, environmental, and mechanical concerns in a timely manner. Ability to quickly and accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Tact and diplomacy required in dealing with customer personnel at delivery points. Must have the ability to work independently; pay attention to minute details; be organized with ability to prioritize and complete tasks; bring energy to the position and be internally inspired using his or her initiative; be punctual and dependable. Requires a high degree of attention and considerable dexterity in the control and prevention of damage to materials and company equipment. Communicates regularly with dispatch during working hours. This position requires overtime and may be called upon to provide call out duties. This position is required to work weekends. Able to perform basic Terminal maintenance. Maintain Terminal and shop in clean working order. Other tasks as assigned Dress Code:

This position requires the employee to wear a company provided uniform and flame resistant clothing. Drivers should dress for the current outdoor conditions and wear over the ankle boots. Blue or Black jeans are acceptable and shorts and sweat pants are not allowed. Uniforms are to be kept clean so as to maintain their useful life and present a clean image.

Education : High School diploma or GED is required. Experience : A minimum of three years driving experience in Alaska with a class A CDL with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsement preferred. Licensure/Certification : Valid Class B, preferred, Driver's Medical Card, Must be able to attain a TWIC Card within 30 days of hire date. Must be able to pass a pre-hire drug screening ,fit for duty physical and background check. A Shoreside Petroleum pre-hire driving test will be administered after the interview process, this test will include pre-trip inspection, maneuvering, and on road driving. Other Qualifications :

Attendance : Regular attendance is a requirement of this position. English Language : Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
