Overview Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - R&D

Company: Snapsheet

Location: USA, Remote

Job Type: Full-time, direct hire

Team: R&D | Department: Technology

About Snapsheet Snapsheet exists to simplify claims. We leverage our expertise in virtual estimating and innovative claims management technology, transforming the end-to-end claims process — delivering faster, modern experiences for claims organizations of all sizes.

About the role We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing R&D team at Snapsheet. This team is at the forefront of developing and delivering our new Snapsheet AI platform, which empowers customers to build and integrate AI features directly into their workflows. The platform is designed to be highly configurable, enabling users to create their own AI tools—such as summarization and smart audit features—embedded within the broader Snapsheet ecosystem.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll play a key role in building both front-end and back-end features with a high standard of quality. You’ll be expected to contribute to architecture discussions, perform thorough code reviews, and deliver production-ready code. A major focus of this team includes working with large models (LLMs)—both integrating and building on top of them—to power features like AI-driven chat interfaces for internal and external applications, and smart logic for auditing insurance estimates.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on greenfield AI development within a product-driven environment, contributing to the technical foundation of Snapsheet’s next generation of intelligent insurance solutions.

What you’ll be doing

Contributing to technical design processes and provide improvement suggestions and feedback

Playing an influential role in growing Snapsheet to be the industry leader in technology

Working in an agile environment and participating in weekly stand ups, retrospectives, etc.

Proactively re-evaluate scope, flag issues, and suggest alternatives

Mentoring junior developers and contributing to development team best practices

What we are looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field

5+ years of full-stack web development experience

Strong debugging and problem-solving skills

Strong technical communication skills; able to articulate complex ideas clearly

Demonstrated experience solving scalability challenges and discussing them in depth

Curious and proactive in understanding the systems and tools beyond surface-level frameworks

Willingness to dive deep and gain expertise in at least one technical area

Clear understanding of the product and business context behind their work

Nice to have

Experience working with large models (LLMs), including high-level understanding of how they function and are integrated into applications

Familiarity with building products or features on top of LLMs
