General Job Description: The Project Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, managing HVAC and process piping sales, and coordinating field labor requirements in collaboration with project leadership. This role requires sound judgment, discretion, and a high level of commitment to ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee project management functions including estimating, engineering coordination, written proposals, and client meetings to ensure successful job completion. Manage contracts from initiation through execution, including sales, estimating, procurement, and delivery. Coordinate field labor and installation sequencing with clients and field teams. Prepare forecasts, budget projections, and cost-control measures to stay within agreed-upon limits. Draft and manage letters, proposals, memos, contracts, and change orders to ensure proper documentation and legal protection. Maintain accurate billing processes while tracking project costs and profitability. Client & Team Relationships
Lead client meetings and drive contract development to finalize sales opportunities. Maintain strong relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and industry partners. Collaborate with internal teams including engineering, purchasing, accounting, and service to ensure timely project delivery. Participate in special projects, committees, and studies as directed to improve processes and technical expertise. Communication & Coordination
Consult and coordinate with department leaders, supervisors, and project stakeholders. Organize and lead construction project kickoff meetings. Maintain consistent communication to ensure alignment of project goals and expectations. Coordinate staff across multiple departments as required by project needs. Provide leadership and mentoring to junior staff, actively supporting training, coaching, and professional development initiatives. Take on additional assignments and responsibilities to achieve overall project and organizational objectives. Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred). 10+ years of experience in estimating, design, and/or management of HVAC and process piping projects starting from $25M plus Ability to work independently and take ownership of project goals. High level of integrity and professionalism. Proven ability to generate new business opportunities and expand client relationships. Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Active involvement in professional or community-based organizations is a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project). Experience with business systems software such as JDE, IFS, BidTracer, FastEst, Bluebeam, Box, or Smartsheet is preferred.
