Senior Accountant role at Sidley Austin LLP. The Senior Accountant position reports to the Accounting Supervisor and supports other department staff. This position requires a self-starter with a high degree of competence and organizational skills, able to work independently to perform complex accounting activities and financial analyses. Base pay range
$85,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr Duties and Responsibilities
Produce financial reports and analyze data. Ability to perform ad hoc analyses quickly while maintaining data integrity and accuracy. Work independently and complete tasks without follow-up from supervisor. Develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets to prepare analyses and reports using advanced Excel functions. Identify opportunities for improvement, provide information and recommendations to management, and follow through on solutions. Assist with management reporting, departmental reporting, and related schedules. Review monthly exception reporting to ensure firm policies are followed. Perform monthly account reviews and variance analyses. Review and analyze general ledger transactions and accounts, using technical judgment to ensure proper recording of financial transactions. Assist with testing and obtain final approval for system reports required for management, financial reporting and general ledger reconciliations. Assist with mentoring staff, including first-round review of work, providing feedback and training. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and delegate to meet various demands. Complete special projects as needed and communicate effectively with other departments and outside parties. Develop a strong understanding of Firm operations and the law firm industry. Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience Demonstrated technical and analytical skills within the accounting/professional setting Preferred
CPA or candidate for CPA certification Public accounting experience Other Skills and Abilities
