Job: Mechanical Test Engineer What the job involves We're looking for a talented Mechanical Test Engineer to collaborate across disciplines and bring ideas to life. You'll oversee the entire mechanical design lifecycle, from concept to manufacturing support. This hands-on role involves utilizing your CAD skills, building prototypes, and conducting tests to optimize performance, cost, and capabilities. Design and build electromechanical systems, collaborating across disciplines (electrical, firmware) and functional groups. Oversee the entire mechanical design lifecycle, from conception to manufacturing support. Utilize CAD software to develop and document designs. Work directly with vendors to ensure design realization. Conduct tests to optimize system performance, cost, and capabilities. Communicate progress, issues, and design documentation to internal and external stakeholders. Build and maintain engineering prototypes. Manage vendor relationships and drive internal build planning and documentation. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or 5+ years of relevant experience). Proven experience in a mechanical engineering role. Track record of successfully completing product development projects and shipping hardware. Experience designing for various manufacturing processes (CNC machining, sheet metal, 3D printing, etc.). Hands-on experience with shop tools and processes (3D printing, soldering, wire crimping, etc.). Proficiency in 3D CAD software and creating / maintaining controlled documentation. Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical). Self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and a critical thinker. Adaptable and eager to learn new things. Bonus
Solidworks experience. Expertise in a specific Mechanical Engineering discipline (analysis, environmental testing, manufacturing). Familiarity with debug tools (DMM, oscilloscope, logic analyzer). Experience in the telemetry / computer vision industry. Experience in automotive or other product development.
