BRG
Overview
Senior Data Management Analyst role at BRG. The Senior Data Management Analyst helps BRG safeguard, govern, and optimize its digital information estate. This role supports the full lifecycle of matter-related records and acts as the process and procedural owner of the enterprise-wide data governance and compliance platform that unifies Data Loss Prevention (DLP), information protection, insider-risk management, lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance across platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, on-prem, and multi-cloud environments. By combining strong records-management expertise with a robust toolset and acting as a bridge between IT and the Business Units, the Analyst ensures BRG’s data remains secure, discoverable, and compliant throughout its lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Collaboration & Training: Act as a bridge between IT Asset Management, Cybersecurity & Infrastructure, IT Risk, Compliance, and Business Units; provide user training on Purview sensitivity labels, secure collaboration practices, and record management procedures.
Matter & Records Governance: Manage end-to-end lifecycle of matter data—from onboarding through disposition—ensuring accurate metadata tagging, retention, and defensible destruction; map siloed communities of practice and develop workflows that support seamless data flow across Accounting & Finance, Legal, IT, and Business Units.
Develop DLP Strategy & Implementation: Oversee Microsoft Purview, configuration and maintenance of Purview’s DLP, Information Protection, Insider-Risk, Data Lifecycle Management, and Compliance Manager modules; coordinate policy-based controls to monitor and protect sensitive data across email, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and endpoints, integrating alerts with Microsoft Defender for incident response.
Compliance & Regulatory Support: Align records-management and Purview configurations with GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001, HITRUST, regulatory and client-specific requirements; generate audit-ready reports and dashboards demonstrating control effectiveness.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Produce ad-hoc and scheduled reports (Power BI/Excel) on matter statistics, DLP incidents, data-handling trends, and system utilization to enable continuous improvement.
Process Improvement & Automation: Recommend enhancements to Purview policies, metadata models, and retention schedules; leverage automation (Power Automate/SOAR) to reduce manual effort in provisioning, classification, and off-boarding.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Management, or related field—or equivalent experience.
5 years of senior-level experience and autonomy in digital records or data-governance roles with hands-on experience in a DMS or multiple repository platforms.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Purview (DLP, Information Protection, Compliance Manager) or comparable governance suites.
Familiarity with data-cataloguing, lineage, and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL).
Strong understanding of records-management principles, retention schedules, and legal hold processes.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (Legal, Finance, Cybersecurity) in a global enterprise environment.
Attention to detail and excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications: Microsoft Certified — Information Protection Administrator (SC-400), DLP Practitioner, ITIL, CRM, or PMP.
Experience operating in regulated, multi-jurisdictional environments (GDPR/EU, HIPAA/US, APAC).
Prior work on mergers, divestitures, or large-scale data-migration projects.
Background in Azure Information Protection, or other security-orchestration platforms, and familiarity with Windows and Azure-based file and data storage systems, as well as Snowflake.
Why This Role Matters This role provides oversight of IT’s client data catalog and BRG’s client lifecycle data management to oversee, manage, and protect BRG’s client data. Candidate must be able to submit verification of their legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.
Salary Range $100,000-$150,000
