Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM)

to join the Horizontal Technical Program Management team, with primary responsibility for the

AI Platform , the infrastructure and software that powers cutting-edge AI research at scale. This is a uniquely impactful role: you’ll help shape the software infrastructure that drives

state-of-the-art hardware and boundary-pushing AI workloads , working with researchers and AI infrastructure engineers in a tight, iterative feedback loop. The TPM will have visibility and influence across the entire stack — from compute decisions to the researcher experience. The

AI Platform

is core to Ai2’s mission: improvements in performance, stability, usability, or scalability create a multiplier effect across research outputs. This is a long-term strategic investment area with many opportunities for the right TPM to shape the future of AI infrastructure.

What You’ll Do Drive the AI Platform program

– Partner with engineering and research leadership to develop and execute the roadmap for internal tools and services that support LLM pretraining, large-scale inference, and petabyte-scale data management.

Gather requirements and drive stakeholder alignment

– Lead processes for collecting requirements from research projects and translate them into clear product requirements; act as liaison between research teams and engineering.

Facilitate internal change management

– Ensure release processes are clear, well communicated, and non-disruptive for 1k+ GPU jobs.

Run operational reviews & reporting

– Establish regular reporting mechanisms for platform health, GPU budget planning, operational reviews, and team velocity tracking.

Program leadership

– Manage monthly leadership reviews, providing visibility into progress, risks, and outcomes.

Platform evolution & researcher experience

– Drive releases, optimizations, and integrations that scale adoption, while ensuring internal tools are intuitive and reliable.

What You’ll Need Proven expertise : 8+ years of technical program or product management experience, ideally supporting platforms, infrastructure, or developer/research tools.

Program leadership : Track record of leading complex, cross-functional technical initiatives from strategy to execution.

Deep Technical Fluency : Understanding of AI research computational requirements; ability to engage with engineering and research teams on low-level requirements involving GPUs, storage, training performance, developer experience, and other platform topics.

Operational rigor : Experience building and running reporting mechanisms, roadmaps, and metrics dashboards.

Collaboration & communication : Excellent written and verbal skills; ability to influence and align diverse stakeholders.

Bias for action : Proactive and resourceful in dynamic environments where priorities evolve.

Tact : Skilled at guiding high-stakes decisions and building alignment across stakeholders.
