This is a highly technical, hands-on engineering leadership role focused on New Product Introduction (NPI) and advanced SMT/PCB manufacturing. Candidates with backgrounds primarily in program management or manufacturing process engineering will not be considered. Who You’ll Work With
As a Manager of Manufacturing NPI Engineering, you will lead a team of 6–8 Electrical NPI Engineers, collaborating with Electrical & Mechanical Hardware Engineering, Program Management, Test Engineering and other key functions, as well as Contract Manufacturing partners building our products. You will work with senior technical leaders to drive product development and manufacturing strategies for high performance/high layer count PCAs, ensuring a seamless transition from concept to high-volume manufacturing. What You’ll Do
You will lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for bringing new products to market with a focus on manufacturability, reliability and efficiency. You will provide technical leadership and drive cross-functional collaboration between engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing teams. The New Product Engineering Manager is responsible for developing and optimizing manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvements. This role requires strong expertise in SMT, PCB manufacturing, and Design for Manufacturability (DFM). The ideal candidate will lead engineering teams, collaborate with cross-functional groups, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability. Lead SMT process development, ensuring high-quality and efficient manufacturing. Implement DFM principles for SMT, PCB assembly, and system integration. Optimize PCB manufacturing, including advanced PCB structures and large form-factor BGA components. Oversee process validation, troubleshooting, and failure analysis. Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and version/revision control. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) from prototyping to full-scale production. Utilize PLM systems such as Agile or Propel to track product lifecycles. Drive data center equipment lifecycle management to ensure manufacturability. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, cost efficiency, and quality. Develop and implement best practices for SMT and PCB assembly. Ensure compliance with industry standards, IPC guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Work with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing efficiency. Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams for efficient material flow. Optimize inventory management to minimize waste and improve production efficiency. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, specializing in Advanced SMT, High Layer Count PCB assembly (30+ layers), and NPI & Production level DFM. Expertise in PLM systems (Agile, Propel) and ECO processes. Strong background in debugging, troubleshooting, and failure analysis. Excellent leadership, mentoring, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills. 5+ years of experience leading an electrical manufacturing engineering team. Experience with large form-factor BGA components and high layer count advanced PCB structures. Knowledge of data center equipment lifecycle management and supply chain coordination, NPI through Production. Background in material management and production planning. Compensation
The new hire base pay for this role ranges from $165,000 to $193,000. Arista offers different pay ranges based on work location. The actual base pay offered will be based on factors including skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base pay may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and equity. US-based employees have benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, tax savings and income protection.
