This includes ensuring compliance with rigorous industry standards, troubleshooting discrepancies, and maintaining traceability for all measurement activities. The ideal candidate will have a background in precision metrology, demonstrated skill in interpreting and executing calibration procedures, and a strong commitment to quality and accuracy. Responsibilities
Calibrate and maintain a variety of precision measurement equipment, including gages, micrometers, calipers, CMMs, environmental test equipment, and other tools, ensuring they meet strict aerospace and industry standards. Develop and implement calibration procedures, schedules, and documentation in alignment with standards such as ISO 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540.3. Conduct precise dimensional, mechanical, and environmental measurements, analyzing data to ensure accuracy and reliability. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to measurement discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, and test results. Collaborate with engineers and technicians to clarify metrology requirements, resolve technical issues, and support project completion. Maintain detailed records of calibration activities, equipment performance, and compliance with traceability requirements. Support audits by preparing and presenting documentation that demonstrates adherence to quality and calibration standards. Stay updated on advancements in metrology tools, techniques, and standards, recommending improvements to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Train staff on proper use and care of precision measurement tools and equipment. Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, quality standards, and best practices in metrology and calibration. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Metrology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Proven experience calibrating and maintaining precision measurement equipment in aerospace, defense, or similarly regulated environments. Skilled in reading and interpreting technical specifications, calibration procedures, and measurement standards. Proficiency in using metrology software and tools, such as CMMs, micrometers, and calibration systems. Preferred Qualifications
Certification such as ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE). Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Familiarity with MIL-STD-38999 connectors, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, or other relevant standards. Basic computer skills for accessing documentation and recording calibration data. Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work performed in a laboratory environment with precision tools and metrology equipment. Requires handling small components, precise instrument adjustments, and occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs).
