This is a long-term care leadership opportunity focused on growing the facility’s occupancy and revenue through effective sales and marketing efforts, and by providing high-quality customer experiences. The Director of Business Development (DBD) is a key member of the Taylorville Skilled Nursing and Rehab Leadership Team. The DBD manages the facility inquiry process and admission process and provides customers with facility information via tours, personal visits/assessments, conversations and follow-up. The DBD coordinates and implements effective facility sales and marketing programs. This leadership position reports to the Administrator and works with the Vice President of Business Development to support facility and regional goals and objectives. The focus is on increasing occupancy and revenue by maintaining liaison relationships with hospital case workers, discharge planners, and physicians; providing hands-on support, guidance and direction to facility staff to develop and implement programs that enhance the customer experience.

Create and maintain professional relationships with hospital social workers, case managers, physicians, and other hospital personnel to secure new admissions.

Communicate with physicians for potential new referrals and market facility services.

Coordinate with the financial office for accuracy of census, insurance information verification, and Medicare/Medicaid eligibility; manage internal admission process.

Manage the referral flow and admissions process, including community sales, referral management, and admission experience.

Meet census goals by working with the facility’s interdisciplinary team.

Lead the facility through weekly and monthly meetings to achieve business and personal goals.

Guide the facility’s internal and external sales program to ensure customer, referral source, and payer satisfaction; promote market penetration and optimize center case-mix and average daily census.

Assist with market research, including competitive analysis, surveys, and demographic analysis.

Collaborate with the facility team to continuously improve systems affecting occupancy: inquiry procedures and skills, tour effectiveness, conversion techniques, follow-up systems, customer satisfaction, and management of unplanned discharges.

2+ years of job-related experience, preferably in marketing and long-term care (other qualifying experience welcome)

Motivated and organized team player
