The Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley invites applications for the Director of Teams@Haas. This role delivers a core, evidence-based academic program serving MBA and UGBA students, partners with faculty, and leads coaching and programming to strengthen team dynamics, leadership development, and academic success. Responsibilities
Counsel students using knowledge of learning theory and develop and implement programs to enhance academic success. Lead the Teams@Haas program for all MBA and UGBA programs, impacting over 1,500 students annually with workshops, coaching, and materials. Foster leadership development by using academic teams as a practice ground for collaborative leadership competencies. Design programming in partnership with the faculty advisor to support team development, academic learning, and leadership development across MBA and UGBA programs. Develop and deliver multi-format programming and coaching, including in-person, hybrid, or virtual contexts. Recruit, train, and supervise coaches and student workers; provide guidance to Academic Student Advisers as needed. Manage program operations, budgeting, and planning to ensure alignment with pedagogical goals and strategic initiatives. Establish and maintain cross-campus partnerships, collaborate with Haas Digital on supportive technologies, and embed Teams@Haas into relevant academic contexts. Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness; develop new modules and adapt content to meet diverse student needs. Provide 1:1 coaching for students experiencing challenging team dynamics and facilitate mediation as needed. Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of adult learning theory and methodologies to enhance student success. Strong understanding of team dynamics across executives, MBAs, and undergraduates; knowledge of learning styles and linguistic issues. Experience designing and implementing learning and pedagogical models; ability to apply theories of adult development and experiential learning. Demonstrated interpersonal, judgment, and decision-making skills; ability to build positive working relationships with students, faculty, and colleagues. Experience supervising staff and student workers; ability to coach and mentor in an academic environment. Bachelor’s degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Coaching certification. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of NCAA policies, rules, and regulations. MBA degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Salary & Benefits
