Overview
Staff Product Engineer, AI Agents (Full Stack)
Amplitude is the leading digital analytics platform that helps companies unlock the power of their products. Amplitude serves over 4,300 customers, including Atlassian, NBCUniversal, Under Armour, Square, and Jersey Mike’s, to gain self-service visibility into the entire customer journey. We help teams capture data they can trust, uncover insights about customer behavior, and take faster action to improve product experiences and drive growth. Amplitude is ranked #1 in multiple categories in G2’s Summer 2025 Report.
Amplitude values humility, ownership, and a growth mindset, aiming to continuously improve ourselves, each other, and the value we deliver to customers and partners.
We’re building AI interfaces that don’t suck.
The AI Team at Amplitude creates product experiences powered by intelligent agents, focusing on both UI and backend quality. If you’ve used an AI product and thought, “Why is this so unhelpful,” you’re in the right place.
This role is for a fullstack engineer who leans frontend, has a strong product sense, and cares deeply about quality. You’ll own experiences end-to-end, from system design to pixel polish, and help define what “usable” AI feels like.
You’ll be part of a small, scrappy, high-context team working across the entire LLM stack — from prompt design to infra to monitoring to customer-facing UX. We move fast, own our work, and prioritize quality and learning over simply deploying models.
It’s ambitious, but we believe this team has the potential to grow beyond Amplitude’s core business in a short period of time, with company support to do so.
What you’ll do
Build fullstack features with a bias toward frontend and UX ownership
Craft thoughtful, fast, responsive UI components that interact with LLMs and agents
Collaborate with backend engineers to build bridges into orchestration and infra
Pair with PMs and designers to rapidly iterate on ideas and prototypes
Help define best practices for AI UX — what great prompting, feedback, and fallback look like
Own the end-user experience and obsess over polish
You might be a fit if
You have 6+ years of fullstack engineering experience
You care deeply about design, usability, and building products people love
You have strong product intuition and proactively identify improvements
You’re comfortable moving fast and making smart tradeoffs
You’ve worked in early-stage or zero-to-one teams before
You’re curious about AI and excited to shape how it gets surfaced to users
You’ve built LLM apps, agents, or tools before
You’ve been part of a small startup or skunkworks team and thrived in uncertainty
You’ve been a founder or early-stage at a startup
