TRC is currently seeking a
Senior Professional Engineer
to support our
Solid Waste
projects with our
Southeast Engineering and Remediation team . The ideal candidate must have 7+ years of solid waste experience and a
Professional Engineering License (PE)
in Virginia; North Carolina preferred. The position may report to any of our offices in Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina or Georgia. The position provides opportunities for engineering design including detail preparation, land grading, stormwater calculations, report writing, permit application preparation and construction quality control. Projects include, but are not limited to, the design and permitting of landfills, transfer stations, convenience centers, recycling facilities, and composting operations. Responsibilities
Landfill design Landfill permitting Stormwater design Wetland permitting Leachate system design, management, and treatment Landfill gas collection and control system design including active gas systems. Management, blower/flair station, plant operations system troubleshooting and well field tuning, Title V emissions reporting Facility siting, design, and construction management for: landfills, transfer stations, convenience centers, materials recovery facilities, composting facilities Landfill capacity analysis Facility / landfill financial assurance Odor assessment and mitigation, tracer gas studies, ambient air monitoring Solid waste facility operations Construction management and quality assurance Design of landfill based renewable energy systems including solar and wind energy, landfill gas to energy systems Other waste to energy technologies including anaerobic digestion and biogas Qualifications
Professional Engineer License in Virginia required within six months. North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida are a plus and may be required in the future 7+ years of experience site planning, stormwater management, erosion and sediment control, drainage design, grading plans 5+ years of landfill design and permitting experience is required Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills required Excellent technical/computer skills required Ability to work in a team environment and on multiple projects at the same time required Mentor and train junior staff Valid driver’s license required #LI-SE1 Benefits
