Overview
Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading supplier of building envelope solutions that effectively drive energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are looking for a Maintenance Engineering Manager with Plant Engineering responsibilities to support our manufacturing facilities in Rancho Cucamonga and Chino, CA.
Responsibilities
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for assuring that the facility and production equipment are properly maintained and designed to safely perform specified tasks in a cost-effective manner.
Identify, justify, and execute capital projects.
Monitor machine functioning, repair/downtime history, and plan/execute cost-effective preventive maintenance activities.
Maintain stock inventory that reflects the parts needs of the operation in a cost-effective manner.
Direct supervision of technicians and hourly maintenance craftsmen, including skilled electrical and millwright personnel, as well as maintenance contractors onsite.
Maintain physical facilities to serve their intended use in a safe, cost-effective condition.
Ensure equipment meets safety characteristics as specified by regulatory bodies; monitor discharges (air, noise, sewer) and maintain permits and emissions compliance.
Collaborate with other departments and facilities to identify, justify, and execute projects that improve safety, reduce manufacturing costs, improve production, and address equipment or facility issues; develop, justify, and adhere to annual operating expense budget.
Interface with other company groups (e.g., R&D, Central Engineering) to complete projects aimed at improving productivity.
Develop departmental budget needs and maintain costs within budget.
Coordinate project activity, including equipment design/introductions, with project engineers and/or Central Engineering.
Support plant EH&S initiatives, including waste management, pollution control, and administrative requirements.
Hours: 7am to 4pm, Monday through Friday, with on-call availability. This position supports two local sites and may require traveling between them for training or plant observations when necessary.
Requirements
Previous experience in maintenance areas such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and boiler is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of measurement gauges (e.g., tape measures and calipers).
Basic computer skills (MS Office Suite: Word, Outlook, Excel).
Effective written and verbal communication, and strong problem-solving skills.
Experience reading blueprints, equipment manuals, and schematics.
Experience implementing and maintaining Preventive Maintenance and Work Order schedules is preferred.
Ability to work under pressure to complete tasks in stressful situations.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
2–5 years of progressive responsibility in manufacturing engineering and maintenance, preferred.
Chemical industry background or similar industrial experience.
