Mid-Level Substation Engineer - Kiewit Power Delivery Engineering
Overview
We are currently looking for a motivated Substation Engineer to join our growing Substation and Transmission Line Design team. As part of a team of highly specialized design professionals, you will support a variety of substation, transmission and distribution projects ranging from 12 kV to 500 kV. We support both engineering design and EPC projects for clients throughout the country.
Location This position is based out of Salt Lake City, UT. Relocation assistance is available to well-qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
Work with the project team to create all design documents and drawings, including one- and three-line diagrams, protection and control schematics, communications diagrams, wiring diagrams, substation layout plans, section and detail drawings.
Specification development for the procurement, installation, and testing of substation equipment.
Apply engineering software to complete tasks such as ground grid design, equipment sizing, relay coordination, and electrical studies.
Communicate and coordinate project activities with the project lead, customer representatives, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
At least 2 years of engineering-related experience preferred
Knowledge of engineering standards, including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE and ANSI
Strong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English
Legally able to work in the United States for any length of time

Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others, individually or in a team environment
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, warning signs, equipment use, and other policies
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within deadlines. Overtime and weekends as required
