Work within an interdisciplinary team to develop novel and innovative solutions to advanced technical problems. Report to the Environmental Qualification Engineering Lead and Specialty Engineering Manager; collaborate with other IPTs to implement requirements, design, and verification for system equipment qualification. Draft, interpret, allocate, tailor, and flow down requirements to all design levels. Present during design reviews to internal and external customers regarding EQ issues. Author design guidelines, review test procedures and reports, perform analyses, participate in cross-discipline design reviews, develop models, and perform analyses on components, subsystems, and systems in accordance with standards (e.g., MIL-STD-810, DO-160); travel to supplier sites to guide and witness tests. Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 5 years of related professional/military engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree with 3 years of related experience; OR a Ph.D. with 1 year of related experience. Ability to transfer and maintain final adjudicated government Secret clearance and program access as required. Experience designing, developing, integrating, and/or testing military and/or commercial avionics or mission systems for environmental qualification. Experience deriving and tracing requirements from system to component level; experience engaging with internal and external technical and programmatic representatives. Preferred Qualifications
In-depth knowledge of MIL-STD-810 and RTCA DO-160. Experience with airborne systems thermal and/or vibration analysis and software such as ANSYS, Flotherm, FEMAP, etc. Experience designing avionics from an electro-mechanical perspective, including packaging and interconnects. Familiarity with integration of aircraft systems; supplier/subcontract management; development of supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work. Experience building supplier evaluation criteria and conducting technical evaluations; supporting supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews. #AS-FA3 Primary Level Salary Range: $114,900.00 - $172,300.00. This range represents a general guideline; actual offers are based on factors including scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays and PTO.
