Overview The University of Chicago Law School seeks a Fellow (ranked Lecturer) for the Abrams Environmental Law Clinic for the 2025-26 academic year (July 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026). Responsibilities

Train and supervise law students in environmental law practice.

Co-teach the Clinic’s seminar component.

Develop potential projects and assist in publicizing the Clinic’s cases and activities.

Organize and coordinate relevant events, lectures, and other Clinic activities.

Support the goal of training aspiring clinical teachers and public-interest environmental attorneys.

Qualifications

J.D. degree with at least two years of work experience as a practicing lawyer.

Preference for candidates with experience in an environmental clinic or other non-profit organization or government agency using litigation and related enforcement tools.

Member in good standing of at least one bar and ability to obtain admission to the Illinois bar by waiver or examination promptly upon joining the Clinic.

Excellent writing, editing, advocacy, and supervision skills.

Experience clerking at the trial court level is strongly desired.

Prior teaching experience is highly desirable.
