Overview
Seeking an experienced General Manager to lead civil construction operations across electric, gas, and water infrastructure projects. This role drives operational excellence, manages union workforce alignment, and ensures successful project delivery from duct banks and vaults to slabs and distribution systems. Responsibilities
Oversee end-to-end execution of civil scopes on utility and renewable projects Lead multidisciplinary teams, review designs, and ensure constructability Manage union labor relations and uphold collective bargaining agreements Drive safety, quality, cost efficiency, and schedule adherence Build strong client, municipal, and regulatory relationships Support business development, proposals, and preconstruction planning Maintain P&L accountability across a diverse project portfolio Qualifications
15+ years in civil/utility construction (excavation, concrete, underground scopes) Strong knowledge of utility infrastructure systems (duct banks, vaults, slabs, foundations) Proven success managing union labor and stakeholder relationships Experience with estimating, constructability reviews, and project planning Bachelor’s in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred Utility contracting and union affiliation experience Familiarity with trenchless and sustainable excavation practices Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of continuous improvement Job Details
