Develop, deploy, and maintain capabilities, tools, and analytics to support the FBI's mission. Understand and partner with enterprise environments, architectures, applications, policies, and compliance to provide capabilities. Collaborate with mission teams to build automation, exploit data, and provide technical support. Design, test, document, and implement complex computer programs and secure databases. Apply theoretical and practical computer science methodologies. Conduct requirement elicitation and analyses to improve existing tools and identify needs for new capabilities. Create tailored data visualizations from enterprise data repositories. Review designs of other projects to ensure quality and deliverables. Develop and extend cost methods for support comparisons. Qualifications

Specialized Experience GS-7 : One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level. SE defined as: Identify, preserve, and analyze digital evidence using existing tools and methods. Assist with implementing custom tools, techniques, and procedures for investigative situations. Provide basic technical and professional assistance in interviews, searches, and outreach. Assist in drafting basic technical documents. GS-9 : One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level. In addition to the above: Troubleshoot and modify tools to identify, preserve, and analyze digital evidence. Assist in developing custom tools and methods for evidence analysis. Assist in drafting more advanced technical documents. GS-11

through

GS-13 : See detailed SE descriptions for the higher grades. In addition to the above, include duties such as assisting with system and network procurement, advanced tool development, liaison activities, court testimony, and national-level guidance on cyber topics as applicable. All degrees

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science from a U.S. accredited college or university. Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows: GS-7: Bachelor’s degree with superior academic achievement or one year of graduate-level education. GS-9: Master’s degree or two years of progressively higher-level graduate education; or related professional degrees. GS-11: Ph.D. or three years of graduate education; or related professional degrees. GS-12 and above: Education may not be substituted for SE at this level.
