We’ll pay you an annual salary of $60,000 to $65,000. About The Job

We are seeking a leader to serve as our Aquatics Director as part of the Dell JCC Member Experience team and is responsible for the overall supervision and management of the Aquatics department, directly supervising the Aquatics Coordinator, two Aquatics Specialists and the Lifeguard team. They will also be responsible for maintaining an up-to-date Pool schedule, consisting of the Lap Pool, Children’s Activity Pool, Slides and Snack Bar. This position also oversees the maintenance and upkeep of the pool deck, and pump room. They will be responsible for CPR training for all Shalom Austin Staff and manage upkeep of staff records in collaboration with the Human Resources team. Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Senior Health and Wellness Director, work closely with the Aquatics Department to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for Dell JCC members and guests. Supervision: Supervise Three (3) Full-Time Aquatics Staff Bar Staff: One (1), Aquatics Coordinator; Two (2), Full-Time Aquatics Specialists; Supervise Part-Time and Seasonal Staff; Head Lifeguards, Lead Lifeguards, Lifeguards, Group Swim Instructors, Snack; Recruit and hire an additional Aquatics Specialist to round out the Aquatics Management Team of four. Operations: Operate the Rochelle and Stanley Ferdman Family Aquatic Center and manage the Pool Schedule; Oversee the Aquatics Budget; Oversee daily chemical and cleaning operations; Oversight of pool logs and reports; Troubleshoot and perform repairs to pool systems; Develop and enforce customer service policies. Programs: Manage all Aquatics programs (Youth Swim Team, Group/Private/Masters Swim Team, JCamps Swim Skillz); handle program administration; coordinate, develop, schedule, teach and evaluate Red Cross programs; train and lead staff; lead trainings and drills; respond to emergencies; stay aware of new programming and facility improvements. Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor 4-5 years of experience in lifeguard training and/or management Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator (within 3 months of hire) Preferred Education And Experience

5+ years in a management role Degree from 4-year college or university American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Trainer American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Trainer Work environment

Environment provides for a safe and healthy work environment and is smoke and drug free. Must be ready to jump or swim in water during emergencies or aquatics programs. Office environment and all-weather conditions, with exposure to chemicals and pool maintenance equipment. Outdoor work in all weather, possible confined spaces. Must be able to communicate with participants and safety issues; tolerate loud noise. Background noise is present. Ability to move quickly, efficiently, and accurately. May be required to work before, during or after emergencies or disasters. Ability to work extended hours outdoors in extreme temperatures. Physical Demands

Ability to swim long distances (minimum 300 yards) Ability to pass rescue skills and first aid proficiency test Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to sit, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods Must be able to see, speak, and hear Seniority level
