The posted UC Salary scales set the minimum pay at the appointment as determined by appointment type and, if applicable, rank and/or step. The base pay range for this position is $200,000 - $270,000. Salary is negotiated annually. Additional compensation may be available if the position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Position description

The University of California, San Diego is committed to academic excellence within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Section of Sleep Medicine in the Division of Respiratory Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at UC San Diego (UCSD) and Rady ChildrenCares Hospital-San Diego (RCHSD) is recruiting Sleep Medicine Physicians. Rady ChildrenCares Hospital-San Diego is a nonprofit, 511-bed pediatric care facility dedicated to excellence in care, research, and teaching. It is the only hospital in the San Diego area dedicated exclusively to pediatric health care and the regionCus only designated pediatric trauma center. The Rady ChildrenCares Hospital for Healthy Sleep is an AASM-certified Sleep Testing Facility. The Division's clinical program is expanding with inpatient, outpatient, and consulting services at RCHSD and UCSD Medical Center, participation in multidisciplinary clinics, and delivery of care at regional satellite programs.

As a Sleep Medicine Physician, the successful candidates will participate in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders and contribute to improving patients' quality of life by identifying and managing sleep-related conditions. The successful candidates will also participate in or lead teaching, mentoring, research, or service toward building a scholarly environment.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience. Links to full descriptions of each series are provided for review:

Qualifications Basic qualifications

(required at time of application) Candidates must have an MD or equivalent or an MD/PhD in health-related fields. Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California. Candidates must also be board-certified or board-eligible in the subspecialty of Sleep Medicine. Preferred qualifications Candidates who are board-certified in Pediatrics, Neurology, Pulmonary Medicine, or Psychiatry are preferred.
