Overview
Data Integrity Expert with a strong background in enterprise backup, data retention policy enforcement, and continuity planning to support a high-profile federal customer. The ideal candidate will have an active public trust clearance, experience with enterprise-grade backup and storage platforms, and the ability to lead and execute data integrity initiatives. This role combines deep technical expertise with project management responsibilities and requires regular collaboration with customer stakeholders and internal support teams. Responsibilities
Project Management & Coordination Collaborate with the Client’s storage and backup support teams, as well as onsite Resident Experts. Create and manage project plans centered around backup and data integrity activities. Track tasks and deliverables across multiple backup and continuity-related workstreams. Provide routine status reporting and documentation to stakeholders. Data Integrity & Retention Management Implement and enforce Client-defined data retention standards and policies. Support data lifecycle management and best practices for backup file retention. Align data storage and backup allocations with Client-defined service levels and SLAs. Establish and maintain grandfather-father-son (GFS) backup strategies and rotation schedules. Policy & Operations Management Define alarm thresholds and ensure proper alarm routing based on severity. Maintain policies related to data integrity, retention, and restoration. Monitor and tune backup software performance and ensure compliance with Client policies. Software Certification & Testing Conduct and document software and regression tests on backup and data protection platforms. Support version control processes and perform code upgrades in coordination with the Client’s policies. Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Monitor data movement and replication across systems and geographic locations. Ensure backup and recovery processes are properly integrated and tested. Support Business Resumption Planning (BRP) and perform regular data integrity validations. Day-to-Day Backup and Data Integrity Operations Monitor disk space utilization on backup storage volumes. Respond to issues related to failed backups, recovery operations, or replication errors. Assist in Client-driven disaster recovery testing or invocations. Maintain accurate logs and documentation for all backup and data protection activities. System Monitoring & Incident Response Monitor backup software logs and storage infrastructure health. Respond to system performance alerts and resolve integrity-related incidents promptly. Perform host-level tasks as requested to onboard new systems into the backup environment. Documentation & Knowledge Management Maintain current and accurate configuration documentation. Keep knowledge of the Client’s business continuity and disaster recovery plans up-to-date. Support DR invocation or test events, as applicable within contracted support hours. Required Qualifications
Public Trust Clearance 5+ years of experience managing enterprise data backup and recovery solutions. Proven experience with data integrity management, GFS strategies, and continuity planning. Familiarity with federal IT environments, SLAs, and compliance standards. Strong understanding of backup and storage software (e.g., Cohesity, Commvault, Veeam, etc.). Experience in scripting/automation of backup operations (PowerShell, Python preferred). Certifications (Preferred)
Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or equivalent Vendor certifications (e.g., Cohesity Certified, Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE), Commvault Certified) CompTIA Security+ or DoD 8570-compliant equivalent ITIL v4 Foundation
