Overview

Senior Health Management Software Architect position with Boeing, supporting the Government Training and Health Management Software Engineering team. Location options include Hazelwood, MO; Oklahoma City, OK; Plano, TX; or Ridley Park, PA. This role focuses on health management and data analytics solutions across the organization. The Senior Software Architect will spearhead the strategic and technical direction for health management and data analytics solutions, driving innovation and ensuring alignment between divergent program technical requirements to create a cohesive software solution for current and next-generation platforms. The role envisions transitioning existing product lines from reactive to proactive health management through an integrated, unified product line that serves current and future military platforms. It will outline the technical strategy for a software platform supporting a portfolio generating over $20 million in annual revenue across a diverse suite of platforms including the F-47, T-7A, F-15, F/A-18, V-22, CH-47, AH-47, MH-139, P-8, AWACS, KC-46, and next-generation platforms. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and customers including Government Training Engineering (GTE) and IT & Data Science (IT&DS).

Position Responsibilities

Software Platform Design: Oversee the design, architecture, and development of a data integration and analytics platform to enable Boeing and its partners to manage, analyze, and derive insights from large and complex platform datasets. Strategic Alignment: Ensure architecture aligns with Engineering Test & Technology (ET&T) objectives and integrates with BGS Government solutions. Technology Solution Identification: Assess solutions for data integration (ETL like Apache Airflow), data storage (PostgreSQL, Neo4j, Amazon S3), big data processing (Apache Spark), data analytics & machine learning (TensorFlow, PyTorch), data visualization (Apache Superset), containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and web development (Angular, TypeScript, Python, RESTful APIs). Compliance and Regulatory Oversight: Ensure solutions and data governance comply with ITAR/EAR, CUI, and data classification restrictions. Software Design Practice Implementation: Lead development, documentation, tooling, and metrics to support high-quality software design. Technical Debt Management: Proactively reduce technical debt. Stakeholder Coordination: Partner with software engineering leadership, IT, SQE, and business counterparts to meet business needs and security requirements. New Business Opportunity Creation: Refine the software technical roadmap aligned to long-range business plans and new customer opportunities. Continuous Research: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to inform architectural decisions. Mentorship & Team Building: Mentor early-career engineers and foster a culture of openness and technical excellence. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

10+ years of experience developing software solutions for enterprise-level data and analytics. 5+ years of technical leadership experience. 5+ years of knowledge of software programming languages, databases, and architecture frameworks. 5+ years of experience developing solutions within cloud environments (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform). Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. Experience overseeing end-to-end development and operation architecture for data analytics solutions. Experience in military/defense domain with ITAR, EAR, and sensitive data compliance. Experience developing AI-based analytics solutions, including generative AI. Experience developing predictive health management solutions for military/defense customers. Travel
