Job Description At Regions, the Enterprise Architect oversees multiple dimensions of assigned applications and capabilities, including stability, lifecycle management, version control, design and development of technology solutions, mapping business requirements to capability-oriented technical requirements, and ensuring technology solutions align with the enterprise architectural roadmap, guidelines, and standards.
Primary Responsibilities
Manages end-to-end from conception through delivery into production of enterprise architectures
Partners with business and technology experts to elicit and translate business requirements into technological solutions
Leads design and modeling of tactical architectures for delivery, development, and support of projects
Designs both physical and logical components of solution architectures to deliver positive business outcomes
Collaborates with other domain architects to provide a consensus-based scalable and adaptable architectural solution
Oversees technical analysis and design capabilities
Facilitates technology design workshops for emerging technologies
Validates designs produced by third-party vendors wishing to sell solutions to the organization
Aligns IT strategy and planning with the company’s business goals and objectives
Promotes the use of a shared infrastructure and application roadmap to reduce costs and improve information flow
Collaborates on roadmaps to align information technology priorities with business partner requirements and strategies
Builds and maintains technical trusted advisor relationships with influential technical decision makers within Technology
Works with developers to ensure solutions align with IT architecture frameworks and design guidelines
Works with Portfolio technology leaders to include technical debt initiatives in the portfolio roadmap
Oversees data integration and configuration
Provides consultation on the most complex projects
Leads the work of others
This position is exempt from timekeeping under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. This position is incentive eligible.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field and ten (10) years of enterprise, solutions and/or technical architecture experience
Experience with N-tier architectures and complex design architectures
Experience with technical, application, and information architecture delivery techniques and methodologies
Experience with Agile methods
Certifications/Licenses
Certifications in the technology domain of the enterprise
Skills and Competencies
Understanding of design patterns to steer business requirements into enterprise-wide technical strategies
Ability to document designs using BPMN and UML
Hands-on experience in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java, Go, C#, Rust, Python)
Knowledge of security design techniques
Understanding of Middleware, .NET, Java/J2EE, Oracle, etc.
Working knowledge of Linux/Windows, Networking, Servers/Mainframe, Secure Coding Practices, Development Environments, Databases (DB2/Oracle/SQL Server)
Additional Job Description The Enterprise Architect will engage with business and technical portfolio managers to navigate the portfolio toward a future state compliant with Regions’ architecture vision and principles.
Additional Responsibilities
Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, data scientists, engineers, and governance teams to co-create scalable and secure solutions meeting banking and financial services risk and compliance standards; provide architectural oversight for enterprise modernization initiatives
Apply Regions and industry architecture principles to craft architectures that incorporate a mix of private/on-premises cloud, public cloud (AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.), and SaaS technologies
Apply enterprise architecture practices (e.g., TOGAF) to manage an application portfolio using business and technical capability models for rationalization and maturity analysis
Preferred Skills/Experience
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse audiences, including C-level executives
Experience with event-driven architecture (EDA) and related tooling
Experience designing and maintaining secure APIs using domain-driven design; familiarity with API Gateways and proxy capabilities
Proficiency in expressing architectural concepts visually and verbally
Preferred Certifications/Licenses
Professional certifications in public cloud architecture (AWS and Microsoft Azure preferred)
Professional certifications in machine learning (ML) and Generative AI technologies (preferred)
Location and Work Arrangement This position is intended to be onsite now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position. The locations available for this role are:

Compensation and Benefits Pay ranges are market references and vary by location and level. Target information is based on the Metropolitan Statistical Area Market Range where the position is located. Pay varies with experience, skills, knowledge, contribution, location, and performance.
Job Range Target: Minimum $159,791.50 USD; Median $207,150.00 USD
This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary incentive plan and may participate in the Long Term Incentive Plan.
