Job Description
Client: Technical Project Manager Long term contract Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of software development projects with a strong focus on backend APIs and middleware systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, QA, architects, product managers, and business stakeholders. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. Create and maintain project plans, timelines, risk assessments, and status reports. Review and understand technical components including Java-based microservices, REST/SOAP APIs, Web APIs, and middleware interfaces. Work with engineering leads to validate designs, ensure scalability, and troubleshoot integration issues. Facilitate Agile ceremonies (daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and manage backlog items using tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent. Ensure adherence to software development best practices, code quality, and DevOps processes. Act as the escalation point for project issues and work proactively to resolve risks and blockers. Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven experience as a Project Manager managing technical software development projects. Strong background in Java/J2EE development and understanding of object-oriented programming. Solid experience working with RESTful APIs, Web APIs, SOAPUI, and API testing. Hands-on understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems. Experience in middleware systems integration, API gateways, and enterprise service buses (ESBs). Familiar with SDLC, Agile methodologies, and DevOps tools and practices. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Strong understanding of cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred). Location: Dallas, TX
