The Department of Revenue is recruiting for a Communications Director — Communications Manager 2. This position is headquartered in our Salem office; however, the successful candidate may be eligible for in-state hybrid work. Hybrid work consists of performing duties onsite in a standard office environment and working remotely. In order to be considered for Department of Revenue recruitments, you must reside within the state of Oregon. Current Revenue employees who live outside of Oregon may apply and will be considered.
What You Will Be Doing Below is a sampling of job duties. It is not meant to encompass all duties.
Advise the director, Revenue Leadership Team, division administrators, program managers, and others on communications strategies including public relations, news media relations, information and education programs, internal and external outreach and engagement, public involvement strategies, employee communications programs, and social media interactions, consistent with the agency’s mission.
Direct, develop, and implement internal and external communications efforts involving sensitive Department of Revenue issues and crises, working closely with the director, senior managers, the Governor’s Office, other state agencies, county officials, and others; make high-profile decisions in short time frames and implement appropriate communications strategies and tactics.
Manage a team of professional communicators. Assign work, develop work plans, establish schedules, monitor performance to meet goals, develop agency-wide communications work plans and budget, interview, hire, and evaluate staff.

Qualifications
Six years of supervision, management, or progressively related experience; OR three years of related experience and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
