DESIRED HOURS : Monday-Friday 10am-2pm PST. Role Description
We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated volunteer with a background in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance to secure financial systems, ensure compliance, explore capacity-building opportunities, pursue grant opportunities, cultivate stakeholder relationships, and assist in launching our wellness programs and partner agency, C.A.R.E. Family Services, LLC. This is a volunteer position that may lead to a full-time role contingent on funding. Remote opportunity available for Washington state residents. Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the nonprofit wellness center; record all financial transactions including donations, grants, and operational expenses. Budget Assistance: Collaborate with management to develop and monitor the annual budget; support in budget analysis and variance reporting. Grant Financial Management: Work with the grant management team to ensure proper financial reporting for grants; track grant expenses and ensure compliance with grantor requirements. Financial Reporting: Generate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders; assist in preparing financial statements for board meetings and grant reporting. Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit; prepare and organize financial documents for audit review. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and nonprofit accounting standards; stay informed about changes in accounting standards. Financial Planning: Contribute to the development of financial strategies for long-term sustainability; provide insights for financial decision-making. Essential Functions
Type 35+ WPM Excellent oral, written, and text communication Prepare documentation and reports for organizational development Organize program files, resources, and CRM Implement the Annual Work Plan and Executive calendar Assist in planning and overseeing significant events Act as a liaison between the Board of Directors, Executive Team, Consortium, and Community Partners Supervise the Finance Team and volunteers Qualifications
Background in finance, accounting, or a related field Proficient in financial record-keeping and accounting software Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and regulations a plus Must submit to a background check and to privacy and confidentiality agreements EEO : C.A.R.E. The CFO works remotely during operating hours with some in-person meetings and events during program quarters.
