Overview
Senior Counsel, Commercial – Beckman Coulter Diagnostics, Danaher Life Sciences. This role reports to the Assistant General Counsel and involves working with executives and business teams across sales, services, marketing, and commercial enabling functions. On-site in Brea, California or Chaska, Minnesota, with a remote option for highly-qualified candidates.
In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To
Serve as the strategic business partner to support business objectives and advise on risk mitigation strategies
Provide practical, solution-oriented approaches to a broad range of legal issues and risks, and structure, write and negotiate agreements addressing those issues and risks
Advise on regulatory, compliance, privacy, and litigation matters in partnership with specialist attorneys and other professionals
Supervise legal professionals and other associates on standard agreements
Identify, design and implement continuous process improvement initiatives using Danaher Business System (DBS) concepts to improve client service levels and streamline template agreements
Essential Requirements
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and 6+ years of commercial law experience in the medical device or life sciences industry, in a law firm and/or corporate legal department
Active bar membership in good standing in at least one US jurisdiction
Up to 15% travel to company sites as required
Preferred Experience
Experience with healthcare regulation, including fraud and abuse (anti-kickback), FDA for medical devices, data use and privacy (HIPAA, GDPR), and anti-corruption (FCPA)
Experience with software transactions
Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this role is $160,000-$190,000 annually. This range may be modified in the future. The role is eligible for bonus/incentive pay. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees. Note: compensation details are subject to change and are at the company’s discretion until earned and payable.
Location and Work Arrangements This position is part of the Legal function and will be on-site in Brea, California or Chaska, Minnesota. A remote option will be considered for highly-qualified candidates.
