Overview
DarkStar Intelligence seeks a UX Designer to lead the planning, design, and development of user experiences for devices, tools, and systems. This role defines interactive conventions, supports user requirement gathering, and creates mockups and wireframes. The designer collaborates with development teams and subject matter experts to evaluate trade-offs and analyze toolsets. By applying expertise in visualization and interface design, the UX Designer will deliver intuitive and effective user experiences while helping customers envision innovative interaction techniques and technologies. Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning, design, and development of user experiences for devices, tools, and systems Establish interactive conventions and assist in gathering user requirements Create user experience mockups and wireframes Collaborate with development teams and subject matter experts in trade-off discussions Analyze toolsets and recommend design solutions Apply visualization and screen design expertise to deliver effective user experiences Help customers imagine and adopt innovative interactive techniques and technologies Minimum Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance with FS Polygraph Ten (10) years of experience in User Experience Design Five (5) years of experience within the last 10 years leading UX design Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, User Experience Design, or related discipline from an accredited institution. Four (4) additional years of UX design experience may substitute for a degree At least three (3) years of experience with screen mock-up tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe XD, Axure) and related industry tools for visual displays and prototypes Desired Qualifications
Operate effectively in an agile development environment, delivering user experience feedback on a weekly basis Conduct user experience research and optimization Create final visual designs, storyboards, interaction flows, and interface guidelines Apply user-centered design to balance user needs with product strategy requirements Work with Product Owners to rapidly prototype and iterate on multiple design solutions Review final implementation with developers to ensure adherence to design standards Collaborate across teams and communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide constructive feedback and design guidance Lead design throughout the project lifecycle: interviewing customers, capturing requirements, creating prototypes, presenting solutions, and clarifying issues Manage diverse engineering teams conducting UX research and optimization Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range: $135,000 – $154,000 annually This pay range is intended as a general guideline and does not represent a guarantee of specific compensation. Final salary will be determined based on factors including responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market alignment, and applicable laws or agreements.
