This physically demanding role is essential for efficiently building pallets of products for bulk and route trucks. Precision in order accuracy is critical when loading outgoing trucks and unloading incoming ones. You will utilize an electronic order system and/or order sheets to construct loads using a forklift and/or electronic pallet jack. Attention to detail in loading and adherence to shipper/receiver documentation is required. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is vital, and you may need to work in varying weather conditions and hours depending on the workload.
Responsibilities Include:
Transport truck loading: Move full pallets of products from the warehouse to trailers while handling returned pallets/plastic flats.
Bulk truck loading: Select designated packages and flavors from the warehouse, ensuring stable stacking and shrink-wrapping on the pallet for local delivery.
Route truck loading: Customize products/packages for each truck based on the salesperson's orders, managing the unloading of returned items and pallets.
This position requires lifting a high volume of product cases weighing between 20-45 pounds repeatedly throughout your shift. Expect to be on your feet, walking, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, and grasping as you move products.
Primary Job Accountabilities:
Operate a power pallet jack or forklift to pick and build pallets according to load sheets or voice pick equipment.
Mark load tickets for out-of-stock items accurately.
Wrap completed pallets/loads securely.
Submit paperwork for order checks prior to loading and ensure trucks are properly checked.
Stage pallets and/or load them into trucks when ready.
Complete partial pallets and correctly organize mixed pallets.
Uphold high housekeeping standards in your work area.
Demonstrate regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
