The Food & Beverage team enables a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is fresh, in stock, available and accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. They are experts of operations, process and efficiency.

- Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest first culture in Starbucks
- Ability to provide a consistent Starbucks experience for guests by curating handcrafted Starbucks’ products
- Experience with food quality and freshness management
- Knowledge of state and federal food safety and OSHA guidelines
As a Starbucks Barista, typical responsibilities include:
- Deliver an exceptional guest experience, connecting with guests to deliver quality handcrafted beverages and food during all hours of operations.
- Uphold and maintain the execution of the Food and Beverage Standards, all Starbucks’ brand standards and food safety standards.
- Execute food and beverage processes, including food deliveries, replenishment, pulls, stocking, zoning, instocks routines, data accuracy, culling, rotation, cleaning, defect, signing and backstock.
- Maintain an on-going awareness of all promotional activities within Starbucks.
- Follow all Target and Starbucks routines to deliver a consistent Starbucks experience for guests.
- Support the Starbucks Drive Up process to ensure digital guest orders are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Maintain an inviting dining area for guests.
- Engage with guests to meet and exceed their expectations.
- Produce items to specifications on production cards.
- Monitor and record temperature-sensitive food items as outlined in best practices.
- Complete and record all cleaning tasks in the Starbucks space.
- Follow proper packaging and labeling guidelines for food products.
- Follow all food safety requirements as outlined through best practice.
- Locate and identify damaged, recalled or expired items and process according to best practice.
- Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders.
- Follow proper perishable inventory procedures.
- Execute sampling best practices.
- Create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests.
- Observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance.
- Engage with guests in a genuine way.
- Be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store.
- Thank the guest in a genuine way.
- Complete all required Starbucks trainings related to quality control.
- Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
- Work in a safe manner at all times.
- Support guest services such as back-up cashier, order pick up (OPU) and Drive-up (DU).
- All other duties based on business needs.

The good news is that we have some amazing training that will help teach you everything you need to know to be a Starbucks Barista. But, there are a few skills you should have from the get-go:
- Previous Starbucks/food service experience preferred, but not required.
- Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
- Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices.
- Work both independently and with a team.
- Resolve guest questions quickly.
- Attention to detail and follow multi-step processes.
- Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
We expect:
- Accurately handle cash register operations.
- Climb up and down ladders.
- Scan, handle and move merchandise efficiently and safely, including frequently lifting or moving merchandise up to 44 pounds.
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends and holidays).
- Ability to work in an environment that could range from 34°F to -10°F.
- Ability to work in spaces where common allergens may be handled.
- Capable of working in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements.
- Ability to remain mobile for the duration of a scheduled shift.
