Facilities Mechanic – Lifesciences Manufacturing

QUICK FACTS

• Location: San Diego, CA 92121
• Shift: Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
• Duration: Contract to hire
• Pay Range: $25-30/hr, DOE
  

EXPERIENCE NEEDED

• 3-5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance plant operations, preferably in a biotech lab environment
• Experience in HVAC equipment and operations
• Knowledge of structural, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical system
• Strong computer skills
  

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

• Perform maintenance and repairs to the Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire, Life, Safety, and Control systems for the facility to keep these systems current with applicable standards
• Monitor operation and maintain refrigeration, water cooling and air conditioning equipment, boilers, heating, ventilating and hot water equipment, pumps, valves, piping and filters, other mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Schedule and monitor the quality of maintenance work performed by outside contractors
• Provide troubleshooting and repair support to installers and customers over the telephone
• Perform preventive maintenance and evaluate systems for continuous improvement
