Esri Software Engineer
SMS is currently has an opening for an ESRI Software Engineer to support ArcGIS Portal development and administration. The engineer will be responsible for building and sustaining ArcGIS and Portal servers as well as conceptualization, design, development, and implementation of new integrated geospatial capabilities. On a regular basis, this Engineer will work with customers to gather geospatial portal requirements, troubleshoot, and remediate application and user issues, and maintain the ArcGIS environment. This is an on-site position located on Ft. Belvoir, VA. As a dynamic systems integrator, SMS offers proven solutions in engineering, operations, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. Responsibilities: Perform system development/integration for Windows Servers. Perform SDE connection integration. Experience with relational databases. Proxy server administration knowledge. Perform ArcGIS Enterprise development/integration. Conduct ArcGIS portal and server administration. Interface verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical staff. Work independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables. Qualifications: BS with 6-8 years, or MS degree with 4-6 years of experience in geospatial sciences, ArcGIS administration, or similar. Must hold a Top Secret/SCI Clearance. 2-3 years of software development experience in ArcGIS API for Python and REST APIs. 2-3+ years of Windows Server experience. 2-3 years of experience with web server management and implementation; troubleshooting of websites, applications, and security implementations. Understanding of virtualized infrastructure, server backup and restoral procedures, application of STIGs and cyber hardening approaches.
