Adventure Ministry - a wellness program pairing hiking and green exercise with self-love principles. You will help create safe, hiking adventures in Austin, TX, and nearby areas. ABOUT US King Global Ministries is an interfaith non-profit serving individualsregardless of life choices, lifestyle, or faith traditionwhose past experiences of trauma and drama skew their present self-perception and sabotage their desire for relationship, career, health, and/or wealth fulfillment in the future. We are organized to reduce the incidence of mental, behavioral, emotional, and substance use disorders and suicide by providing programs and services that develop protective factors and build resilience against life challenges. We are making self-love innate, imitated, and hereditary Guiding Principles: By the grace of God, we are what we are. (1 Corinthians 15:10) Nothing can separate us from the love of God. (Romans 8:35-39) We're called to draw others with loving-kindness. (Jeremiah 31:3) The power of our spiritual gifting lies in loving others unconditionally (1 Corinthians 13:1-3) We advocate for spiritual, emotional, mental, physical, and economic freedom (Luke 4:18-19; Proverbs 31:8-9) HIKING TEAM ROLES Program Director has overall responsibility for the hiking group. Hike Coordinator creates the seasonal schedule and tracks attendance at all hikes. Can be a virtual role. Hike Planner (YOU) Recommends and plans a single hike. Group Leader Leads one hiking group on the day of the hike. Group Sweep Hikes last in the group and keeps a count of the hikers. Photographer/Videographer Takes photos and videos during the hike. Social Host Plans the after hike social. Social Media Strategist revolutionizes our digital presence and grows our brand following. (Virtual) Webmaster Designs and manages style, content, performance, and technical upkeep of website. (Virtual) HIKE PLANNER RESPONSIBILITIES The Hike Planner works with the Coordinator to plan and ensure that each hike proceeds smoothly. The Hike Planner responsibilities include: Pre-view the hike to ensure that the proposed route is known and available. Ensure that all group leaders understand the route to be taken and provide maps if needed. Complete a hike description by Wednesday before the hike and forward it to the Seasonal Hike Coordinator and the Webmaster. Directions to Parking area be specific, especially when the hike is new. (If also participating in the hike) Introduce the hike and the leaders at the start of the hike. Organize the hikers into the groups. ABOUT YOU Love nature and hiking Ability to hike 3-5 miles (Beginning) , 5-7 miles (Intermediate), or 3-12 miles at elevation (Advanced) (preferred) Wilderness First Aid Certified Complete Leave No Trace training prior to start (provided) Complete Food Safety training prior to start (provided) Ability to follow directions Calm under pressure Share the same work/moral ethics as King Global Ministries If you don't have all of these qualifications, please let us know why you feel you are an ideal candidate anyway If youre excited about the opportunity to use your love of adventure for a great cause, apply now to join our team and help us make a difference!
