Job Description
The Catering Lead provides support and leadership to the culinary operations on and off campus. The lead is responsible for assisting the Food Service Manager with the day-to-day planning and operation of catering events. The catering lead will be responsible for event prep, room/buffet setup and breakdown. The catering lead will be the main contact for customers during events. The lead will provide excellent customer service, ensuring that events run smoothly. They will be responsible for leading catering staff during events when needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Assist daily planning and execution of catering events, utilizing staff and resources effectively. Assist Food Service Manager with menu planning, organization, cleaning and all aspect of catering events. Lead the catering operations including food prep, daily execution of the menu and service standards Provide excellent customer service to guests at catering events. Ensure that proper sanitation practices are being followed, bringing any issues to the Food Service Manager to address. Assist the Kitchen Lead and Food Service Manager with Caf preparation and execution as needed. Responsible for the safe transport of food and supplies for catering events as needed. Assist with room setup and IT support for events as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts or 2 years of experience in a commercial food service setting is required. Food Service Sanitation Manager Certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
Richland Culinary Arts Institute current student or graduate preferred
Physical Demands
Salary N-8 $19.34/hr
