The Special Education Case Manager will exemplify content knowledge to collaborate with classroom teachers in planning units that integrate learning and are aligned with the Core academic standards. The Case Manager will work closely with the school team to supervise students according to their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). By implementing this plan, staff will help the students develop their full potential, while systematically increasing their socially appropriate behavior. Responsibilities

Serve as the local school district representative at all required meetings under IDEA and serve as the 504 Coordinator for all meetings under Section 504. Fulfill all roles and responsibilities outlined in the ODLSS Procedural Manual for the local school district representative. Ensure all IDEA and Section 504 timelines are met. Process all family notices and consents for evaluations and placements, providing them in the native language where feasible, and file in student records. Send families draft IEP materials and relevant evaluation data at least five school days prior to meetings. Arrange certified interpreters for IEP and 504 conferences for families with limited English proficiency. Coordinate referrals for evaluations to ensure completion within 60 school days of parental consent. Support IEP team in utilizing data for service decisions. Finalize IEPs or 504 Plans during meetings and provide copies to families. Support the MTSS process and conduct observations, coaching for educators. Partnerships

Assist in programming students with disabilities according to their IEPs. Collaborate with the Instructional Leadership Team to schedule staff and services. Oversee implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans. Train staff on IDEA and Section 504 requirements. Enter student data into SSM promptly. Arrange services within the school or coordinate with ODLSS for placements. Consult with district and ODLSS representatives on low-incidence services and implementation issues. Stakeholder Relations

Attend ODLSS professional development and meetings. Chair IEP and 504 conferences, acting as District Representative. Requirements (minimum)

Bachelors degree in Special Education or Masters in Educational Administration. Qualifications

Professional Educator License (PEL) in Special Education (PK-Age 21) or School Support Personnel with supervisory endorsement. Expertise in special education curriculum and services. Knowledge of general education curriculum. Understanding of diverse student needs, laws, and intervention strategies. Ability to establish effective relationships and communicate effectively. Willingness to travel as needed. Physical Demands

Occasional physical activity including lifting, carrying, and fine motor tasks; primarily sitting, walking, and standing. Disclaimer
