provide a unique and extra level of support to our patients and their families! Deliver homemade frozen soups and casseroles to patients and/or families in our service area. Many deliveries do not include direct contact; meals are left on porches or quickly handed off to family members. The volunteer would document interaction/visits with patients and families and returning the documentation within three days to the Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteers are required to complete an orientation program which can be done as a self study in the volunteer's home at your own pace. Also required is a background check and 2-stepp PPD (TB) test. Homeland Hospice pays for this check and test. Time Commitment:
Will vary, but approximately 4-6 hours per month. Volunteer can set own daytime/weekday hours that correspond with Homeland Hospice office hours (8:00 AM-5:00 PM), to pick up meals and patient's/family's schedule. Requirements: Reliable transportation Good driving record Willing to be consistent (weather permitting) with delivery schedule Occasional flexibility in delivering a meal ASAP due to family need *The Homeland Hospice office is located in Harrisburg, but serves 14 counties in South Central PA, including - Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon, Northumberland, Perry, Schuylkill, York.*
