Sheet Metal Mechanic - Aviation
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will read blueprints and schematics to perform C&D Check maintenance within a repair station environment. You will be responsible for the fabrication and modification of structural parts and components, working within an MRO/Part 145 setting to fabricate, install, and overhaul CRJs. This is an open-ended contract position based out of Bridgeport, West Virginia. Responsibilities
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Perform C&D Check maintenance in a repair station environment. Fabricate and modify related structural parts and components. Work in an MRO/Part 145 setting to fabricate, install, and overhaul CRJs. Conduct modifications, repairs, and overhauls of aircraft structures. Essential Skills
3+ years of aircraft sheet metal/structures experience. Proficiency in modifications, repairs, and overhauls. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. Experience in sheet metal fabrication. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Airframe/A&P License preferred, but not required. Must have your own tools. Candidates with 2 years of modification experience plus an Airframe license or 8+ years of SMM experience without a license are suitable. Work Environment
The work environment is a heavy MRO setting that is fast-paced, with tight timeframes and a focus on heavy C/D checks and inspections. Work orders are assigned daily with specific timeframes for completion. The facility operates 24/7, with shifts divided into a 'Southern Swing Shift' pattern (3 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 3 day off schedule). First shift runs from 6:00 AM-6:30 PM and second shift from 6:00 PM-6:30 AM. Casual dress is acceptable, including shorts or pants and a t-shirt. This is a long-term opportunity with a new facility addition, including a new hangar and more customers signed on. Enjoy the flexibility of a swing shift schedule that allows for a full work week and long weekends, with opportunities for overtime! The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
