Controls Engineer
The role focuses on carrying the controls portion of projects from concept to completion, with an emphasis on software development, including writing code from scratch and working with HMI systems and AutoCAD electrical. Although primarily software-focused, there are opportunities for design involvement. This position requires expertise in programming robots, understanding ERP systems, and effective customer communication. Responsibilities: Carry controls portions of projects from concept to completion. Write code from scratch using existing libraries. Work with Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs). Read, edit, and make red lines within AutoCAD electrical. Program robots, with expertise in at least one type required. Utilize ERP systems, with EPICOR preferred. Travel 25-50% of the time, scheduled 2-3 weeks in advance. Collaborate with teams including sales, project managers, mechanical, technicians, and electricians. Communicate effectively with customers and set expectations. Solve technical problems, such as adjusting palletizing system patterns on-site. Essential Skills: PLC programming from scratch, specifically with Allen Bradley. Proficiency in reading and editing AutoCAD electrical. Ability to program robots. Customer interface experience. Work Environment: The work environment offers flexibility, with the ability to work under a dynamic manager who values family and flexible scheduling. While remote work is recognized as important, it is not initially offered unless necessary. The facility is modern and clean, with temperature control and large doors for fresh air. The HQ features collaboration stations and a clean shop floor. When not traveling, expect to split time between the shop floor and desk work. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
